How We Quality Check Every Piece
When someone orders a custom statue from Artmellows, they are not just buying a 3D print. They are trusting us with their face, their memory, or someone they love. That means quality cannot be a gamble.
Every piece goes through a strict, human led quality check before it leaves our studio. No shortcuts. No automated approvals. Real people look at real objects.
Here is how we do it.
Quality starts before anything is printed
Most quality problems happen early. If the digital sculpt is wrong, the final statue will never feel right.
Before a file goes to print, we check:
• Face shape and proportions
• Eye placement
• Nose, lips, and jaw balance
• Expression and mood
• Hair and clothing shape
• Pose and posture
If the digital model does not feel like the person, it does not move forward.
This is also why we send previews to the client. You see the sculpt before it becomes physical. That prevents big mistakes.
Print quality inspection
Once the piece is printed in high quality resin, it is checked again.
We look for:
• Print lines
• Surface waves
• Soft details
• Warping
• Missing parts
• Broken edges
If anything looks off, it is reprinted. We do not try to hide bad prints with paint.
Good prints are the foundation of good art.
Part and fit check
Most statues are printed in sections. Before they are glued, each part is dry fitted.
We check:
• How the parts line up
• Whether seams are visible
• Whether the pose feels natural
• Whether the structure is strong
If the fit is not perfect, it is corrected before assembly.
Surface and seam inspection
After assembly, the piece goes through surface prep.
We inspect:
• Seams
• Gaps
• Rough spots
• Support marks
• Uneven texture
These are filled, sanded, and smoothed by hand.
This step is what turns a print into a sculpture.
Paint quality check
Paint is where realism lives or dies.
We look at:
• Skin tone balance
• Eye clarity
• Lip color
• Hair shading
• Clothing details
• Overall harmony
We also check for:
• Drips
• Brush marks
• Dust
• Patchy color
• Over gloss
If something looks flat or sloppy, it gets fixed.
Light test
Every piece is viewed under good lighting.
We rotate the statue and look at how light moves across the surface.
This reveals:
• Missed seams
• Uneven paint
• Shiny spots
• Texture problems
A piece that looks good in dim light can fail in bright light. We use bright light.
Structural check
We make sure the statue is solid.
We test:
• Balance
• Base stability
• Joint strength
• Fragile parts
If something feels weak, it is reinforced.
A museum grade piece must survive being handled.
Final approval
Before packing, one final person checks the entire piece.
They look at it as if they were the customer.
If they would not be happy receiving it, it does not ship.
Why this matters
Mass production uses machines to approve things.
Artmellows uses eyes and hands.
Every statue is slightly unique. That is what makes it special.
Quality is not about perfection. It is about care.
That is how we protect your face and your story.
